Silvia Ilves

Silvia can be requested to perform classical solo concerts on cello, for example various compositions by J.S.Bach, C.Cassado etc.

As a duo with Liidia (piano), the set can include for example Saint Saens’s “Swan,” Davidoff’s “Romance,” Goens’s “Scherzo,” Popper’s “Hungarian Rhapsody” and Elgar’s “Salut d’amor.”

As a trio (cello and violin), the set can consist of for example Mozart’s “Eine Kleine Nacht Music,” Piazzolla’s “Libertango,” Scostacovich`s “Walzer,”Carlos Gardel`s “Por Una Cabeza,” Beethoven’s “Menuet,” Bach’s “Air” and several other repertoire.

As a quartet (cello, piano, violins) the Ilves Sister can perform for example Brahms’ “Hungarian dance,” Vivaldi’s “Winter,” Piazzolla’s “Winter,” Hatšaturian’s “Sword dance,” Offenbach’s “Barcarolle,” Strauss’s “Blue Danube,” etc.


The sisters can also organize and perform private concerts on request.

Their latest repertoire also includes music by ABBA on the electric cello, piano and two violins.

Liidia Ilves

Liidia Ilves (05.04.1990) was born in Pärnu, Estonia. She started playing the piano at the age of five and enrolled in the Tallinn Music School in 1996. She graduated with a gold medal in 2008 and continued her piano studies in the Estonian Academy of Music and Arts, earning her master’s degree cum laude in 2013.

During her piano studies she was awarded several prizes, for example 1st prize in the 1998 “Young Musician” International Contest for Pianists, Violinists and Cellists in Tallinn and many others.

Liidia has performed as a soloist with the Pärnu City Orchestra, the EAMT (Estonian Academy of Music and Arts) Orchestra and TMHS (Tallinn Music High School), and worked with conductors such as Leonid Grin, Paul Mägi, Risto Joost, Jüri Alperten ja Mihhail Gerts.

Besides playing solo piano, Liidia enjoys playing chamber music. Together with her sisters, who are also musicians, she has performed in Estonia, Lithuania, Russia, Finland, Sweden, Germany and France. During the years 2010-2012 she received several prizes in the chamber music competition festival “In Corpore”. In 2014 she and her sisters Silvia, Aleksandra and Gloria were selected to take part in the concert series “Music for Schools” organized by the State Concert Institute Eesti Kontsert.

Since 2011 Liidia has been teaching the piano in music schools and given private piano lessons. Currently she is working as a piano teacher in Juuru Eduard Vilde School and St John’s School in Tallinn, and plays in the musical group The Ilves Sisters with her sisters.

The Ilves Sisters

The Ilves Sister have actively played and performed together since 1999 all over Europe. The other sisters are Liidia (1990), Helena (1991), Aleksandra (1993), Damaris (1994) and Gloria (1997). The Ilves Sisters also won the International Competition of European Music Families held in France in 2005.
